Adelaide’s First Gin Cruise
Ahead of its time, Kangaroo Island Spirits were the creators of South Australia’s first gin distillery. As I was always looking for new South Australian products to showcase, it seemed fitting for Floating Melodies to run Adelaide’s first gin cruise. Featuring the KIS Wild Gin we served it neat or as a Bee’s Knees – a popular Prohibition-era drink! Of course, this was made using local beverage company Grubb for the lemon and local Flinders Ranges honey! It was a bit hit and we sold out two performances for the Fringe in 2016.
Performers & Produce
What else would you put with gin but a 1920s performer with a Tin Pan Alley repertoire list! It paired perfectly and finished with the phrase, don’t worry everyone, in four more years it will be the marvellous 20s yet again!
Food-wise we teamed up with Bagel Boys and had sliders and mini hotdogs along with our normal cheese offering. We finished it all off with Golden North Icecreams!
